Who we are

Access to treatment that may be harder to reach at home.

PPEV helps patients access medical treatments that may not be readily available or affordable in their home countries. South Africa offers advanced medical technology, established healthcare facilities and a broad range of specialist services.

Our focus is particularly on patients from the African continent seeking medical and surgical treatment in South Africa, and on the family members who are often the ones making the arrangements.

Founding date & mission

Founded in 2022 as a one-stop medical travel service.

PPEV Medical Tours was established in 2022 to give medical tourists in the sub-Saharan region a single service for medical travel and the logistics that come with it.

Our mission is to make appropriate healthcare in South Africa easier to reach for patients from across the African continent — helping them identify the right specialist, coordinating treatment and travel, and reducing the difficulty and uncertainty that comes with seeking specialist care far from home.

What we do

Medical guidance and travel coordination, together.

PPEV Medical Tours provides medical opinion and travel coordination for medical tourists, particularly patients from the African continent seeking medical and surgical treatment in South Africa. We help patients identify appropriate specialist doctors and hospitals, request quotations on their behalf, and assist with the logistics surrounding medical travel and treatment.

Hospital and surgical care is delivered by independent, registered specialists and accredited facilities. PPEV does not operate a hospital. Where a prescription is needed, our founding director, Dr Inchien Chamisa, can assist as a registered medical practitioner.

How we work with you

A case officer for every enquiry.

When a patient requests assistance, PPEV assigns a case officer who becomes your point of contact. They ask for the basic medical information needed to understand your situation and, where appropriate and with your agreement, relevant documents can be shared with partner healthcare facilities for review and feedback.

Sharing documents securely Please do not send sensitive medical records through the website. Your case officer will explain a secure way to share anything that a facility needs to see.

Why South Africa

A destination built for medical travel.

South Africa provides access to advanced medical care, well-equipped healthcare facilities and a broad range of specialist medical and surgical services, delivered through multiple private healthcare providers. It already receives medical tourists from a number of regions.

For many patients, treatment can be more accessible here — in both availability and cost — than in some other countries. The country is well connected by air, with the travel and accommodation infrastructure a medical trip needs. And for the recovery period, there is the country’s natural beauty, leisure, shopping and other activities to make recuperation easier.
